On a crisp early autumn day, somewhere not so deep in the woods of New Hampshire, something magical happened....
ANOTHER FIRST ASCENT in the Dave Wetmore saga!! This time on a roadside boulder in Stoddard, NH, Dave takes down a beautiful line made up of a hard crimpy sequence building to a ridiculous dyno out of a 45 degree roof! Dave starts the Fall off right with a new classic. With many projects on the horizon, you'll be sure to see some more shorts coming before long.
The 6th annual Blackout Boulder Brawl came to MetroRock Climbing Center in Newburyport, MA on October 24th, 2015. Here you witness the best moments from the raddest bouldering competition in the land. Yet another fantastic job from both the talented route setting crew and amazing artists! Already can't wait til next year!
Who says there's nothing new at P-Way. Dave Wetmore has been wandering the woods in hopes of finding the finest unclimbed boulders in New England. About seven years ago, John Branscombe, Mike Veazey, and Jed Piotte did some developing at Magic Pond in Pawtuckaway State Park and left this one open. In this video, he goes back and finishes the job.
And a special thanks to pro climber Josh Larson for making the insane hike out, getting lost, help cleaning, and having the vision to complete the line. Psyched for the next one.
MUSIC: Aesop Rock - Grace (Instrumental)
IT'S BACK!! The Blackout Boulder Brawl rocked the roof off of MetroNorth Climbing Center in Newburyport! Once again the crew outdid themselves with decorating the entire gym with neon tape, blacklights and crazy decorations that reeled in over 200 competitors in what has become one of the most unique climbing events in New England. Every year people bust out their day-glo pants and head over into the darkness.
Many thanks to the sponsors of this event: Clif, Mammut, Mad Rock, Friendly Foot, New England Resoul, Runa, CrimpMe, Newburyport Brewing Company, RockON, Fuel Training Studio, Moosejaw, KJ Bags, Riverside Yoga and more!
When you're done with the video check out some of the pics taken amidst the chaos. Hope to see you next year! icloud.com/photostream/#A4JEsNWnJfXuDa
